I have been arrested, charged and then chrges dropped does it show on my crb check?
Many people wrongly believe that if there is no conviction then there is no record. This is false. You still have an arrest record. A record of your arrest along with the charges, arresting police agency, and disposition will still appear in a background check. In your case the disposition will read something like charges dismissed, but the record of all this is a legal, court doent that stays forever. I do background checks on a weekly basis, and many people are shocked to find that a record still shows up even though they were never convicted. What should only matter is what is listed as the disposition of your case. My advice is to always list things like this if you're applying for a job, so you have a chance to explain and it shows a potential employer that you are honest. If they find it on a background check and you weren't the one to tell them, then say goodbye to the job.
