Mare wont allow hind legs to be picked up?!?

its good that you have gotten her that far, i have saw farriers (good ones) hold the foot untill the horse is calm then put it down, it can be alittle risky so be careful, just have the horse pick it up and hold onto it for about 2 secs, if the horse doesnt pull away put it down and rub the horse all over, keep working up to more time like then hold it for 4 sec the next time if it pulls away try to hold it untill you feel the horse relax it for a split sec, then put it back down it will work i used it on an arabian one time who wouldnt even let you touch her back legs in the beginning hope this helps = ]
