What does French and an Asian language have in common? Does anyone think French borrowed one of their roots?
In Chinese, ai means love. Does ai in Chinese also mean like? I might have missed that in my dictionary because I was studying too much German which has no roots of any variations of the Chinese word ai in it, but does have the word lieben which means to love or to like because I spoke German and I still do. Japanese borrowed the word ai from Chinese so therefore it means love as well and is written in the same Kanji and also san from Chinese which means 3. Did Korean also do this? Borrow the word ai from Chinese? Japanese also formed a word out of it from its roots, like aisaretai. Ai is in a lot of songs and aisaretai. Ai is in Sen no Yoru wo Koete, Ketsui no asa ni, etc. and aisaretai is in Life and Sen no Yoru wo Koete, etc. The French word for to like or to live is aimer. Is it possible that French could've gotten the root from an Asian language such as Chinese or Japanese itself or could it have been Latin that borrowed the root from one of the 2 Asian languages? This is quite a mystery for me to discover what all languages when come together have in common with each other.
