What kind of bird copies each other?

My 6th grade teacher used to tell my cl about these birds that would copy each other. For example, if one of the birds would jump off a cliff, the others would follow along... I thought it was called a "lemming", but I just found out that a lemming is a rodent. Does anyone know what that bird is called?
