What would be a good place to live in Fayetteville (Fort Bragg), NC?

My husband was offered a job in Fayetteville NC, and we need to know what areas are good to live in. We have two small children who are not in school so the school district doesn't matter, but I would like somewhere safe and family oriented. We would be moving from Baltimore. If anyone has any information it we would be really helpful . thanks.
